Anzac Day 2018

Victoria Police and Victoria Police Legacy were invited by the Chief Marshall of Anzac Day, Colonel Jason Cooke to be part of a community initiative called “Anzacs coming together” in memory of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. This is the second year that Victoria Police Legacy was invited to participate.

The initiative is to make a ‘kiln fired clay plaque’ at the Shrine Reserve on ANZAC Day and to leave either hand print or personnel ‘ode’ on the plaque. Once completed the plaques will join others on a walls at various places across Victoria. The concept is to create a permanent community memorial to those who have served in the Defence Forces and paid the ultimate sacrifice. CCP Graham Ashton has previously participated, along with Deputy Commissioner Andrew Crisp who represented Victoria Police last year.
